If your distribution is Ubuntu, you can use the newly-released package by Spotify, the Snap for installing Spotify on Linux. Actions will be different on different versions of ubuntu. For Users who running Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04: Just go to Ubuntu Software Center, pick up the Spotify app and then install the Spotify snap package on your Linux.

In most cases, the new mapping should work immediately, but if you’re not seeing the correct behavior, you may need to flush your DNS cache. For OS X Lion and OS X Mountain Lion, open Terminal and use the following command. Note that you’ll need to enter your admin password to execute it:

When you’re done making changes, press Control+X to exit the editor, Y to save, and Return to overwrite the existing hosts file. As mentioned earlier, make sure to flush your DNS cache if you notice that your new mappings aren’t working properly.

Step 4: The current stable release was built against Ubuntu 14.04. It does not launch in Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 15.10 and Ubuntu 16.04 without the library libgcrypt.so.11. To fix it, just select download the package from the link below and click to install via Software Center.
