I want to stream Spotify to my AS-501 amp, but the amp has no wifi or bluetooth capability. At the moment I have my Samsung TV output connected to the amp via optical cable, and I use the Spotify app on the TV.
Is this set-up likely to be the best I can achieve with the amp? Yamaha used to sell a bluetooth adaptor, but it was expensive and seems to be out of stock everywhere. I could also connect a PS4 or Sky Q box to the amp and use Spotify on those devices, but would that offer anything better than streaming via my TV?
I did try connecting my smartphone to the amp using a headphone cable, but that was awful.

Start it on your PS4 and then log in through Spotify Connect from your smartphone or tablet's Spotify app. Make sure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your PS4 and then open up the Spotify app on your smartphone or tablet. Play a song and tap Devices Available on.
